listened and took the time to find my new shoe!
Before I even get started on the shoes I purchased, let me just say that Silas is a fantastic asset to Big Peach! I walked into the Suwanee location 20 minutes before you closed and was immediately greeted by Silas. He took the time and listened to my needs and issues I’m currently having with one of my feet. He confirmed my size and went to the back and pulled four or five pairs of shoes, all different brands, for me to try on.
He then sat down and began breaking out one pair after the other, lacing them up, asking how they felt, and actually listened. He explained the technology of the shoes, the pros, the cons, and everything in between about each shoe.
Silas was kind, extremely patient, and wonderful to work with. He listened to what I needed and found the exact right shoe for me. He assured me if they didn’t work, I could return them. He wasn’t pushy with any particular brand or additional sales. He said when I’m ready to start walking trails, come see him as he had the perfect shoe for that!. I’ll be doing that sooner than I think!
Now, to the shoe I purchased. I ended up purchasing the Altra Experience Flow in the light blue color. I’d just like to say that these are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve had in years! I’m normally a Brooks wearer and have been for about a decade, but after now having these Altra’s since mid-July, wearing them almost every day, and now having walked/ran a 4-mile Glow Run, I can honestly say these are the best run/walking shoes I own!
They have cushioning where I need it without looking like I’m walking on an air mattress. They have excellent support throughout the length of my foot and a wider toe box than shoes I’ve worn in past. I do love the plat laces; however, I find that I have to double-knot them to keep them tied throughout the day. The overall style and color are perfect!
I will continue to purchase Altra’s and hopefully get into some trail-walking Altra’s soon! Thank you to Big Peach, but thank you even more for to Silas who listened and took the time to find my new shoe!
